Mozambican delegation visits Aberdeen
A high ranking delegation of Mozambican politicians and officials has concluded a fact finding visit to the Scottish city of Aberdeen. The purpose of the visit was to look at the infrastructure required to support a burgeoning energy industry.

Standard Bank to finance gas fired power station
Standard Bank has announced it has reached an agreement with the Mozambican company Gigawatt under which it will provide US$170 million to help finance the construction of a 118 megawatt gas-fired power station at Ressano Garcia, on the border with South Africa.

Large increase in trade with China

Portus Indico takes control of shipping terminal

AIDS related deaths fell 20 percent over five years
President Filipe Nyusi declared on 1 December in the northern city of Nampula that the number of deaths from HIV/AIDS in Mozambique fell by 20 per cent between 2014 and 2018.

New water system for Gorongosa inaugurated
More than 30,000 people will benefit from clean drinking water in Gorongosa town, in the central Mozambican province of Sofala, thanks to a new water supply system that President Filipe Nyusi inaugurated on 15 November.
