   SASOL to prospect for oil in Mozambique basin
 
 

The Mozambican government on Tuesday authorised a contract for oil prospection in the central province of Sofala. The concession was awarded to the South African company SASOL and the Mozambican state-owned Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) – which has a fifteen per cent stake.

The shareholders of Mozambique’s two publicly owned telecommunications companies, TDM (which runs the network of fixed lines), and the mobile telephony company MCel, met on 8 June and elected Mohamed Rafique Jusob as chairperson of the board of directors of both companies.
